Welcome to Detroit Basketball

Updated: Jul 27, 2021

Ahem, DEEEE-TROIT BASKETBAAAALL.

So, why start another sports blog?

The answer: there's a need for more quality. To often, the analysis is poor, there's a bunch of bullshit content that comes from paid sponsorships, and it's folks just telling you what you want to hear - that they'll feed you spoonfuls of rainbows and nonsense.

There's value in independent reporting. I've been writing about the Detroit Pistons for quite a while now, and whether you've liked what I've written in the past or not, one thing it's always been has been independent.

This is a new endeavor for me and I'm not quite sure how it'll go. After taking the 2020-21 season off from writing about the Pistons, I've found that I miss it. My aim is to write one post per week and to nail down a schedule. I won't be your daily Pistons update, but I hope that when I do hit Publish, it'll be something interesting, thought-provoking, and relevant. I've always taken a lot of pride in my byline and even when folks disagreed with the thoughts, I think they've still found them well-researched and compelling. I'll try to bring some friends along too and hopefully that'll help.

Be assured: this is your best place to find Pistons thoughts. You won't always agree with them, but you'll have some things to chat about and we'll foster a community.

In starting something new, you generally want to be innovative. This isn't. It's a throwback. And perhaps that's appropriate for the Pistons in this new era of DEEEEE-TROIT BASKETBALL.
